Amber Heard Back in the Hollywood Fire

Actress Amber Heard is set to make her first red carpet appearance since her infamous defamation case with her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp.

The 37-year-old starlet will appear at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, Italy on Saturday, 24 June, for the premiere of her latest film, “In The Fire”. The supernatural thriller is directed by Conor Allyn and co-stars actor Eduardo Noriego.

Heard moved to Madrid, Spain in May this year, to get “away from all the noise” following the highly-publicised trial in Virginia last year, in which she was found to have libelled her former husband.

The “Aquaman” actress was found guilty of defaming Depp in an article written in December 2018, in which she accused him of abuse. Heard was ordered to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages, plus $350 000 in punitive damages.

“I keep moving forward,” the actress told a Spanish news outlet last month before adding: “That’s life.”

Depp has also returned to the big screen recently, having portrayed King Louis XV in the biographical drama “Jeanne Du Barry.” In May, the 60-year-old actor received a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in France for his role, but Twitter users were significantly less supportive, highlighting his brown, “rotting” teeth.
